The College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) at 荔枝视频, Dominguez Hills is proud to announce the launch of its new TEACH UP Certificate Program, designed to support aspiring educators and create meaningful career pathways for current school district employees.

The TEACH UP Certificate provides foundational knowledge and practical skills to prepare participants for teaching roles in today鈥檚 diverse classrooms, and for meeting the needs of students of color. Uniquely, the program is intentionally designed to uplift and support individuals already working within school systems鈥攊ncluding classified staff, paraprofessionals, and support personnel鈥攚ho are ready to take the next step into teaching.

As schools across the region continue to face educator shortages, programs like TEACH UP play a critical role in building a sustainable and community-rooted teacher pipeline.
鈥淚t鈥檚 important that educators not only work to improve their own mental, emotional, and physical health, they should also understand how various experiences affect the mental, emotional, and physical health of the students they teach,鈥� said Dr. Devin Beasley, Program Director of the Teach-Up Certificate and CalTPA Coordinator.

鈥淭EACH UP is designed to do just that. It emphasizes the cultivation of caring and compassionate relationships, wellness practices, and modeling healthy habits in learning environments - for self and more importantly, for K-12 students from typically underserved or underrepresented populations.鈥�

Through a flexible and career-focused curriculum, participants engage in applied learning experiences that emphasize instructional strategies, classroom engagement, and real-world application. The program is designed to be accessible for working professionals, making it especially valuable for those balancing full-time roles within school districts.

The Teach-Up Certificate aligns with 荔枝视频鈥檚 broader mission to expand access to education and workforce development opportunities while addressing urgent community needs.
