ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµâ€™s Toros Teach LA is an innovative program that addresses the severe shortage of early childhood educators by preparing, graduating, and placing culturally competent, racially diverse teachers and leaders in schools throughout the LA region.

The goal of the initiative is to build equity-embedded credentials, improve graduation rates among underrepresented students in teacher credential programs, and enable educators to build successful teaching careers with less debt and higher career retention.

Featuring PK-3 Credential Scholarship Recipients


Initiatives

The Early Childhood Excellence initiative offers ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ students the new PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction Credential. To address the need for new teachers, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) has approved a new teaching credential for pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade. The Black Educator Excellence is designed to support current and emerging educators. The Teach-Up Certificate provides a clear, supportive pathway to help individuals build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to thrive in today’s diverse classrooms and meet the needs of students of color. Through practical instruction and real-world application, participants are meaningfully prepared for teaching roles across educational settings. To make a real impact, we’re offering exclusive scholarships to aspiring early childhood teachers, counselors, and administrators at ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ!
