Description	The Dr. Lois Chi Emeritus Faculty Association Science Scholarship is awarded to currently enrolled 荔枝视频 undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in biology, chemistry, or a closely-related field in the biomedical sciences. Preference is given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in a natural science.

Description	Dr. Loether, emeritus and founding faculty member of the sociology department at 荔枝视频, was greatly respected by his colleagues and his many students. Dr. Herman J. Loether established the Social Systems Research Council (SSRC) in addition to teaching Sociology at 荔枝视频 for 30 years (after teaching for 10 years at CSU-Los Angeles). Dr. Loether also founded the Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) Chapter at 荔枝视频 and served as the advisor for many years. Dr. Herman J. Loether was actively involved in the development of the SSRC (now called the Urban Community Research Center), and took great pride in teaching 荔枝视频 students about doing hands on sociological research with community partners. The Loether Memorial Social Research Scholarship was established in his honor to support Sociology students engaged in scholarly research activities.听Herman J. Loether died of cancer on March 25, 2011.
