If English is not your native language, you will need to provide proof of your English proficiency. Since most classes are taught in English, it is essential to demonstrate your ability to read, write, and speak English.
ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ accepts the following English proficiency tests:

- Submit a copy of the TOEFL iBT Test Taker Score Report for verification or request for official TOEFL iBT to be sent directly to ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ. Official results take approximately 4-16 business days after your test date to be mailed from ETS.
- ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ TOEFL institution code is 4098.

- Submit a copy of the IELTS Test Report Form for verification or send official results through IELTS e-delivery service.

- Submit a copy of the Pearson PTE Certificate with the Score Report Code for verification or official PTE scores can be sent through your myPTE account.

- Request for official DET scores to be shared with ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ, Dominguez Hills through your online Duolingo account.

Undergraduate Applicants
Undergraduate applicants, regardless of citizenship, who completed studies in non-native English-speaking countries and do not qualify for a waiver are required to submit one of the following before an admissions decision can be made:

English Proficiency Exam Waivers
The following criteria can be used to waive the English proficiency test requirement:
- Attended secondary school or any higher education institution for at least three full-time years
- In the United States
- In a country where English is the sole language of instruction, which includes Australia, Botswana, Canada (excluding Quebec), Commonwealth Caribbean countries (Anguilla, Antigua, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Dominica, The Gambia, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos Islands), Fiji, Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda, United Kingdom, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
- Undergraduate applicants who have met all admissions requirements except English Proficiency may be offered conditional admission through ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ's American Language and Culture Program (ALCP). Upon successfully completing the ALCP, students will receive an ALCP English Proficiency Waiver enabling them to begin their degree program in the subsequent available term.
Graduate Applicants
Graduate applicants, regardless of citizenship, who completed studies in non-native English-speaking countries and do not qualify for a waiver are required to submit one of the following before an admissions decision can be made:
