Dr. Payman Nasr, PhD, MT(ASCP), is Chair and Professor of Clinical Science at ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ, Dominguez Hills. Trained at the University of Kentucky (BS in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, PhD in Anatomy & Neurobiology, Postdoctoral Scholar in Physiology), he previously served as a tenured associate professor at Kent State University before joining ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ in 2015 and becoming department chair in 2021. His teaching spans clinical hematology, urinalysis and body fluids, pathophysiology, and research methods. Dr. Nasr’s scholarship focuses on infectious-disease epidemiology and hematopoietic disorders, with recent work in Frontiers in HematologyÌýand Journal of Medical Case Reports. He has earned national awards from ASCLS for both teaching and research and has secured competitive funding, including a U.S. Department of Education MSEIP grant (Co-PI). He actively mentors undergraduate and post-baccalaureate researchers preparing for clinical and graduate careers.
