(1) Mission:ÌýThe mission of the CBAPP Board of Advisors (BOA) is to provide support, guidance and leadership to the Dean on issues pertaining to the school’s academic excellence.Ìý
(2) Functions:ÌýMembers will have at least five of the following responsibilities:
(3) Membership:ÌýMembership of the Board will consist of the Dean (ex officio), Associate Dean (ex officio), and approximately 15-20 members outside of the College.ÌýInitial appointments are made by the Dean with roughly one-third of the members with one-, two-, and three-year terms. Continued appointments (both renewable and new) will be made by the Dean and the Board and will be for three years. ÌýA staff member will be appointed by the Dean to take the minutes.
(4) Officers:ÌýThe officers will consist of a Chair and Vice-Chair.ÌýTerms run from July 1 to June 30.ÌýThe initial Chair appointment will be made by the Dean.ÌýAll other Chair terms and all other officers will be elected by the Board.ÌýThe Board may elect other officers as deemed necessary for the transaction and business of the organization.ÌýThe terms are for two years and no individual may serve the same position for more than two consecutive terms.ÌýÌý
(5) Meeting:ÌýThere will be one meeting each semester; one in early November and the other in late April - after the tax-return filing deadline. Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, shall govern all meetings of the Board.
(6)ÌýCommittees:ÌýThere are no standing committees at this time.ÌýThe Chair may appoint ad hoc committees, as appropriate.
(7)ÌýDecision making:ÌýOfficial positions or recommendations of the CBAPP Board will be a simple majority vote by a raise of hands, roll call, electronic, or voice vote, as needed.
(8) Quorum:ÌýA majority of members in attendance in person or on the phone are needed to represent a quorum.
